We’ve seen an amazing response from FOSS projects participating in the VALS Semester of Code pilot. With a week to go before the programme is open for students to submit their project proposals, we’ve had over 20 FOSS projects sign up for the pilot, contributing nearly 50 project ideas for students to take on.
Organisations that Semester of Code students will have the opportunity to work with include the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Moodle, OpenMandriva and Lime Survey. The project ideas submitted so far cover topics such as audio processing, HTML parsing, API design, web development and many more.
If you’re from a FOSS project who’d like to take part in Semester of Code, it’s not too late to sign up. Simply head over to http://vps.semeserofcode.com and follow these instructions to register your organisation and submit project ideas.
In the second round of the Semester of Code, there are available 250 projec ideas for students to take on. Apply for them in the following URL http://vps2.semesterofcode.com
